This is the team. One person. An artist, Bassé, and a skater.
I used to skate as a teenager every day, and now, in my 30s, I’ve come back to it with full passion. EKH-O was never planned as a brand. At first, the boards were simply canvases. They were a way to express freedom, movement, and rebellion against the corporate culture I was challenging in my art. But when I shared the designs with the skate community, their response was so humbling that EKH-O naturally came to life. My arty boards have been professionally printed in the UK, on high quality decks from California, which are 100% canadian maple, 7-ply and cold pressed. Quality is very important to me.
As for the business itself, EKH-O will always stay independent. I’m not interested in investors shaping it to chase profit. This brand is art-led and community driven. I engage with the skate community every day- because how else can a skate brand truly stay connected to the people it serves?
I’m here to shake things up and remind everyone: skating started in the streets, it lives in the streets, so the decisions should be made in the streets (ie. from the skate community). No boardrooms here.
I also kind of love that every single arty EKH-O deck is representative of an original piece of art.
